Early Operations

Once SpIRIT has been ejected into the desired orbit, approximately 12 hours after launch, SpIRIT begins the attitude stabilisation procedure, in which powerful electromagnets and reaction wheels are used to slowly halt any spin of the spacecraft.

Once the spacecraft is stable, solar arrays and communication antennas are deployed, and initial communication with the ground and basic checkouts can commence.
